A typical inspection takes approximately one hour to complete. Many inspections can be completed in twenty to thirty minutes depending on what is to be inspected. Like anything, your first inspections will likely take a little longer until you become used to the process. ISA has a smart phone app that allows our inspectors to upload photos, videos, and scanned images of service documents and their report form the shop. This eliminates having to spend additional time at the end of the day doing paperwork. ISA has automated our process to help our inspectors be more efficient and allow them to have more free time.

The client sets the time requirements for the assignment being completed. Most clients require the inspection to be completed within 48 hrs of dispatch to ISA. ISA makes every effort to complete all assignments within the 48 hr. timeline.

How many inspections can I get in a week?
The number of inspections you will receive will depend on many factors. Your location is the most important factor. If you are in a major US city you can expect a higher volume of inspections vs. being located in a small US city or town. Since we have no way of knowing when someone's vehicle will fail, there are no definite numbers we can quote. Other factors are the quality of your inspections, the detail and clarity of your photos, timeliness in getting the assignments completed and your ability to clearly communicate with others and accurately describe your findings. Some inspectors in major cities receive 50-55 inspections a week and others in a rural city receive just a few a month. An inspector who just waits for an email of an assignment or a phone call is likely to be less busy than the inspector who is willing to take some initiative on their own. Checking with the local dealerships finance and insurance department to see what service contracts they are selling in your local area and reporting this to ISA is the most effective way of increasing business for you. We have no way of knowing what independent contracts are being sold everywhere. Therefore we have implemented a referral program that inspectors can inform ISA of this information. ISA will on your behalf will contact them and help solicit the business for you in your area. WE work as a TEAM with our field associate inspectors to mutually grow our business together.
Here are some testimonials from some of our inspectors:
I have worked with ISA for 2 1/2 years and have found the experience to be very satisfying. Assignments were given over the computer and were expected to be done within a 48 hour period. I was able to set my own schedule and work the hours that were most convenient for me, as long as the work was done within the set parameters. Payment for work done was made on a regular basis. I enjoyed working with the people at ISA and would not hesitate to work with them again.

Since retiring from the automotive repair field I have been an inspector with ISA for almost 7 years. I find the work very interesting, it keeps me involved with the business without getting my hands dirty.
My job as an inspector involves going to the repair facility, following instructions of what is to be inspected and verify the problem. I inspect for vehicle abuse, modifications and if it has been used commercially. I also take pictures, along with a 25 point inspection of vehicle and parts that require an inspection. I am the eyes and ears for the companies that require our services. The report of my findings and photos are sent to the ISA secretary.
The staff at ISA are great to work with. They are always willing to help with any problem I might have or suggestion of how a situation might be handled.
My job does not require me to make settlements or agree on cost of repairs. Therefore it is easy to keep a good relationship with the service departments and technicians. The job gives me the flexibility that I want in a job. I call this my fun job.

I have worked with many different inspection companies over many years. I have found ISA as one of the most friendly and easy to work with. Other companies are overly demanding and unrealistic with their expectations. ISA has proven to be dependable and fair. I found the inspection process challenging and interesting. The pay was good and even better once I was in the expert program. This is an excellent job for anyone who is looking for extra compensation or wants to get paid for what they know and not get beat up still working on a vehicle every day. As I became older this has become a great full time job for me.
